Memorial Day Weekend is finally here and we are kicking it off with four awesome wines for you to taste and celebrate. The tasting line up includes great bottles from top Spain, California and Italy vintners. Our very own Rob J will be providing live musical entertainment.
The festivities begin with pours of a "Mestres Coupage Premium Rose Cava", one of Spain's best sparkling wines. Aged for 30 months, this fine bubbly displays vibrant flavors of red fruit, floral notes and spices, and good balance of sugars and acidity. Kick-off your holiday party in style with this gem. Mestres has been making wine in Spain since the 1600's. Highly recommended!
Next is a Central Coast "Zwicker" blend of Gewürztraminer, Muscat, and Riesling. Fermented in stainless steel, the wine is clean, pure and refreshing, with light body and notes of elderflower, jasmine, peach, lychee and grapefruit. Great with fish, chicken, turkey burgers and Asian.
My first red is a "Reversanti Barbaresco", a true classic from Italy's iconic Piedmont region. This 100 % NebIollo has remarkable elegance and complexity with aromas of bright red fruit with a hint of mint and rosemary with sweet tannins. You’ll love this outstanding new addition to our Italian selection. 5 stars!!!
My last pour is a "Highflyer Centerline" Napa Valley blend of 45% Petite Sirah, 30% Syrah, 18% Tempranillo and 7% Zinfandel. This wine over delivers with a focus on fruit and structure. It has aromas of black cherry, chocolate and spicy notes, a full, rich palate and a touch of lush tannins. Perfect for your holiday weekend cookouts with friends and family.

My lineup for Friday is probably the closest you can get to visiting four fabulous countries to taste some of their most delicious wines, without actually leaving Lakeview. This dazzling four + 1 wine selection includes a special pour right at 7 pm that you don't want to miss (limited quantities). Talented soundscape pianist Kevin Koprowski will be playing live.
I'll start with a "Viñedo de los Vientos Estival", a white blend from one of Uruguay's most innovative sustainable wine makers. The"Estival" is a silky, floral blend of Gewurztraminer, Chardonnay and Moscato Bianco that offers scents of oily citrus, flavors of passion fruit, pineapple, and an almond cream finish. Great with Ramen, fish, sushi and spicy dishes.
Next is the "Castelo Monaci KREOS Rosato" from Puglia, the heart of Italy’s rose production region. Made with the indigenous Negroamaro grape, this elegant rose is dry with bright fruit flavors (rose, strawberry, blueberry) and a floral note on the nose. NEW ARRIVAL!
My first red is a "Chateau Haut Barade" Bordeaux red, a unique, small production red made with Petit Verdot, a grape that usually plays a supporting role in Bordeaux blends. Medium-bodied, deep, dark and inky in the glass, it offers notes of dark fruit and herbs on the nose and a rich, well-structured palate. Petit Verdot shines in this one, check it out!
Last but not least is our new red from Argentina: "Alma Negra M," produced as a blend ofMalbec, Cabernet Franc and Bonarda . Generously oaked, but with balance, it shows elegant notes of aromatic spices and ripe blueberries with violets. The palate is medium to full-bodied, powerful but balanced. An XL blend for powerful food. 91 points by Robert Parker - Outstanding!!

Winner of multiple awards and highly rated; this awesome red comes from one of the most historically significant wine regions in the world and takes its name from when Pope Clement V moved to France in 1309 (Limited quantity, available while it lasts) - a gem!!
This complimentary tasting is dedicated to all the wine loving mothers out there celebrating their special day on Sunday. In their honor we'll be pouring a lineup of four outstanding wines PLUS samples of one the best wines in the house (limited quantity - pour of this wine is at 7 pm). The talented Ian Rottner will be playing live.
I'll start with pours of a superb Oregon "Benton-Lane" Pinot Gris.This is a fruity, crisp, deeply aromatic white with notes of honeydew, lemon and fig that literally jump out of the glass. Benton-Lane is one of my favorite Oregon winemakers and once you taste their Pinot Gris you'll understand why.
Next is "Seven Terraces" a new Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand's iconic Marlborough wine region. This white displays vibrant fruit aromas of ripe gooseberries, citrus and passion fruit, all balanced by a firm, long finish. Great with seafood, poultry, salads or on its own.
My first red is "The Bluffer" a unique Paso Robles wine made with Valdiguié, a relatively rare grape in California (barely 300 acres growing) but popular in the South of France. The Bluffer is fruity and light bodied with lots of lively, tart berry flavors and a finish that reminds us of Gamay wines (Beaujolais). You'll love this hidden gem!
In honor of all the wine loving mothers out there I will be pouring a "MacPhail" Sonoma Pinot Noir that is possibly one of the best I've ever had. I will uncork and discuss this extraordinary wine at 7 pm. LIMITED AVAILABILITY, I only have 1 bottle of the MacPhail available to taste.
My last is not only a superb Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon but also a great Mother's Day gift. The"Carpe Diem" embodies the essence of the Napa Valley classic Cabernet Sauvignon. It balances juicy red fruit with black licorice, flinty herb and a velvety texture. Medium to full bodied, ripe, delicious!!
For this "Wine Friday" I've put together a superb, four-wine lineup that includes two new arrivals that will dazzle your palate and keep you smiling all weekend long. Rob J will be on the keyboard providing musical entertainment.
My first pour is a "Vilarnau Rose Cava" Reserve from Spain's Catalonia region. Trepat and Pinot Noir grapes give this delicious pink fizz a bright, red currant color and a vibrant, ripe strawberry character. Soft and juicy with refreshing, balanced acidity and beautifully presented in a Gaudi inspired bottle.
Next is an exceptional "Cantarutti" Pinot Grigio from Friulli Venezia, one of Italy's greatest wine regions. This new arrival offers notes of pineapple, melon and peach delivered in a citrusy, crisp style that will put it right on top of your favorite whites list.
My first red takes us to the legendary Minervois wine region in France's Mediterranean coast. The "Campagne de Centeilles" Cinsault offers notes of ripe cherry, medium tannin structure, delicate spice and a warm, bright finish. This wine has had very little exposure in our country and we are proud to be presenting it to you for tasting this Friday.
From France we move to Santa Barbara County to bring you "DIME", a bold, fresh California version of the prestigious Bordeaux blend. Cabernet Franc drives the blend with Merlot in the passenger's seat and Malbec and Petit Verdot riding in the back. Red fruit, velvet and sage shine in this ripe and luscious red - just delicious!

Tomorrow is Wine Friday at Stellar and you are invited to taste our lineup of four superb wines while soundscape pianist Kevin Koprowski fills the house with his awesome sounds.
This lineup starts with pours of a "JJ Vincent Cremant de Burgogne", an outstanding sparkling wine from France's iconic Burgundy region. The Vincent bursts with clean, crisp Chardonnay flavors of apple and white fruit. It’s juicy and full-bodied, with floral details and citrus spice. Cremants are a great option to Champagne at a lower price point.
Next is a 2016 Sonoma "Toad Hollow" dry rose made with the Pinot Noir grape. This bone-dry, crisp, salmon-colored beauty has flavors of cherry, strawberry and fresh plum, supported by sturdy acidity. It pairs well with ethnic and vegetarian fare but would be perfect solo as well.
My first red is a Muriel Reserva Tempranillo from Spain’s renowned Rioja region. Flavors of strawberry and raspberry mingle with vanilla and spice in this delicious red. Velvety on the palate, the Muriel has a long, elegant finish. Pairs with Spanish, Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisines. Excellent value for a fine Rioja red!
Last but not least is a Pipoli Aglianico del Vulture, a full-bodied, earthy Italian red with intense, deep ruby color, notes of cherry and candied fruit, and hints of vanilla. The Aglianico grapes in this wine come from 50-60 year old vines grown in volcanic soil, giving it an earthy, mineraly texture. Delicious!

My first pour is a 2015 Cosumano made with one Sicily's great wine grapes: Insolia. This dry, refreshing white displays flavors of apples and pears, hints of citrus zest and a nutty character. Enjoy it with fish, poultry, light pasta, salads or on its own. If you like Pinot Grigio you'll love this Insolia - a great value!
Next is a "Champalou Cuvee de Fondraux" from France's iconic Vouvray appellation (Loire), home of the much-loved Chenin Blanc grape. This superb white offers a fresh, floral boutique of flavors with hints of pear, minerality, and a light citrus finish. The Champalou is very food friendly and one of my favorite go-to-whites this year.
My first red is a Wildekrans Pinotage that truly brings this often-misunderstood South African wine to the next level. This Wildekrans has aromas of red berries mixed with some blackberries, mulberry and morello cherry. The tannins are soft and the finish lingers with freshness. Great alone or with grilled meats, sausage, spicy foods and well seasoned poultry. Delicious!!
I'll wrap the lineup with a new vintage of our Amancaya Malbec-Cabernet Sauvignon blend from Argentina. This "gem of a blend" brings to the table fruit aromas of red and black berries, with notes of mocha, spices and pepper. Bonds naturally with a New York strip steak, prime rib or just a juicy burger!

Kick off your celebrations in style with my first pour, a "Vilarnau Reseva Cava, Gaudi Edition" Cava that’s a true and tested crowd pleaser. Packaged in an eye-catching bottle, this dry, crisp Spanish bubbly offers aromas of apple, light spice and a lovely lemony finish. Spot on with brunch, dinner or just for a toast to happiness!
Next is a “Chamisal unoaked Chardonnay” from California's Central Coast. This white displays zesty aromas of just-cut apple, lemon-lime soda and a stony quality. Fresh and crisp on the palate, it finishes with kiwi and sea-salt flavors. A great white to pair with casseroles, chicken and fish!
My first red is a "Calista Coast Range" Pinot Noir that's a heavenly match with many Easter favorites. The Calista is a medium-bodied, bright Pinot with aromas of dried cherry, rose petals, and roasted coffee. Cranberry and rhubarb splash the palate to a long, black fruit finish. 89 points - delicious!
My last pour is a superb “South African Tokara Shiraz” (Stellenbosch). This savory red displays notes of blueberries, mulberries, hints of red berry and Chinese Five-Spice. Full-bodied, the Tokara has chalky dry tannins and a white pepper finish. Pairs beautifully with pork tenderloin, roasted poultry and meat dishes. Highly recommended!
After a long, rainy workweek, we all need a little "Wine Therapy", so for this Friday I've put together a tasting lineup that will ease your mind and erase your worries. Outr very own Ian Rottner will be playing live.
I'll roll out the tasting with an "Aloisiushof Element" Gewürztraminer from Pfalz, Germany's second largest wine region. This aromatic, floral white displays aromas of lychee, rose, tangerine and a touch of citrus in the finish. Pairs beautifully with Thai, Chinese, Indian and other spicy cuisines.
Next is a "Hanna" Russian River Valley Sauvignon Blanc that exemplifies the happy marriage of citrus to exotic fruit flavors found in the better Sauv Blancs of this AVA. The Hanna delivers flavors of ripe lemon, starfruit, cut grass and guava that smoothly glide from nose to finish. Great with flaky fish, poultry, spa cuisine and veggies.
"Angosto Tinto", a unique blend of equal parts of Malbec, Garnacha Tintorera, Syrah, Graciano and Cabernet Franc from Valencia, Spain, is my first red. This wine has aromas of ripe fruit, sweet spices, creamy oak and hints of balsamic. The acidity is quite vibrant and the tannins are ripe and expressive. Great with Mediterranean food, chicken, salads and hard, salty cheeses.
Last but not least is a 2012 "Provenance" Napa Merlot made with grapes from some of the best vineyards in the valley. This fine red wine is complex and elegant with flavors of wild plum, blackberry, cherry, and nuances of dark chocolate - 5 stars, a gem!!!

For this tasting I've put together a lineup of four exceptional pours that’ll take you on a memorable wine journey from Italy to California...first class! Our very own Van and Matt will be providing musical entertainment.
I'll roll out the tasting with a Antinori Bramito Chardonnay from Italy's renowned Umbria wine appellation. This superb white has notes of pineapple, lemon, hazelnut and vanilla, rounded in a toasty minerality and bright acidity. Pairs beautifully with fish, chicken and Italian charcuterie.
Next, I'll be pouring a wine I consider a true Italian gem: a "2011 Travaglini Gattinara Nebbiolo". Presented in a unique decanter-like bottle, this medium-bodied Piedmont red has aromas of mature red berries, dark plum, herbs and balsamic, all of which bond in perfect harmony in the glass. Taste it, take it home and save it for a very special moment. Highly recommended!
From Piedmont on to Tuscany to taste "Rompicollo", an easy-drinking, tasty 60/40 Sangiovese- Cabernet Sauvignon blend. The vines are planted in volcanic soil rich in "tuffo" (tuff), resulting in a medium-full red rich in fruit, sweet spice and herbal notes. Perfect "go to" Italian for pasta with red meat sauce, pizza, chicken and sharp cheeses.
The lineup wraps in California's Lodi Valley with an outstanding Mettler Cabernet Sauvignon produced in the robust style of the Zinfandel we carry from this great winemaking family. Big, bold, well balanced and smooth, the Mettler is a truly delicious wine. Steak, burgers, roasts and all beef dishes are this wine's best friends.

Spring is finally here and this Friday we are celebrating with a wine tasting that'll make your taste buds bloom and your smile shine. Vocalist/Guitarist Ian Rottner will bring it all together filling the house with his great live music.
I'll roll out the lineup with a Brut Burckel Jung Cremant d'Alsace Rose, a spring perfect French sparkler you'll instantly fall in love with. 100% Pinot Noir, this bubbly has aromas of red berries and flowers, plus a dry, crisp, elegant texture and lots of thin bubbles. A winner!
Next we'll taste a Pinot Noir from the same producer and region as the rose to compare how the grape expresses itself in sparkling and still wines. This Burckel Jung Pinot Noir is uniquely light, dry and fruity, and while it shares some traits with its sparkling counterpart, it also shows a great deal of personality. Pairs with white meats, fish, sushi, ramen and soft cheeses.
Next up is one of my favorite California Chardonnays: "The Arsonist". Lush and smooth, with a rich, fruity texture and lots of depth, this oaky, buttery chard is truly exceptional.
Pairs beautifully with crab cakes, creamy dishes, squash and Cheddar cheese.
My second red is a "Guado al Tasso il Bruciato", an outstanding Super Tuscan I just added to our Italian inventory. This tasty blend has notes of sweet spices, toasted coffee, ripe red berries and a long finish. Enjoy it with prime rib, roasts, lasagna and wood-oven pizza. Highly recommended!

Our Friday tastings have become a Lakeview tradition and my mission is to keep it going strong with great wine lineups, fun music and a welcoming space for you to toast, taste and enjoy. Tomorrow I'll be pouring four superb wines while our very own Rob J plays live, and you are invited to taste them all!
I'll start with a "Hugel" Pinot Blanc Cuvee Les Amours from France's Alsace region. This crisp, dry white has a snappy acidity and shows flavors of sliced apple, pineapple, almonds and lemon. Enjoy it on its own or with fish, shellfish, chicken, sushi, Thai or Indian.
Next is a Bodegas Shaya "Arindo" Verdejo from Spain's Rueda wine region. This young white is juicy and ripe, with pineapple, pear and mango notes that make the perfect pairing with tapas, shrimp, mussels, rice dishes, and sautéed veggies. A classic Spanish white that never disappoints!
The first red is a "Santa Digna Carmenere" Reserve from Chile's Central Valle wine region. Medium-bodied, with aromas of blackberry and cassis, balsamic notes and a spicy finish, this red pairs naturally with pork chops, veal, steak and burgers. Great value for an excellent, quality South American red!
I am excited to be pouring our new L'Oliveto Cabernet Sauvignon for you to taste! Delicious and engaging, this limited production, Sonoma gem features aromas of red fruit, dark berries, lavender and spice. In the glass, you'll find an elegant touch of plum, licorice, oak and a long rewarding finish. Awarded 92 points by Sommelier and Wine Critic Christopher Sawyer.

We are kicking off St. Patrick's Day weekend, one of Chicago's favorite holidays, with a four-wine complimentary tasting that’s sure to set the stage for a fun and festive time in the city. Talented soundscape pianist Kevin Koprowski will be filling the house with his great music while you toast, taste and celebrate.
My first pour will be a Dosio Roero from Italy's highly respected Piedmont wine region. Made with Arneis, a grape rescued from the verge of extinction and now in the midst of a successful revival, Dosio is fresh and dry with mineral flavors, notes of broom, chamomile, and a tangy finish. Enjoy it on its own or with fish, shellfish, frittatas and salads.
Next is URLAR, a Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand' s Wairarapa wine region. Fig, nectarine and grapefruit notes mark this wine as ripe in style, without much of the herbal pungency found in Sauvignon Blancs from Marlborough. URLAR is medium bodied, with a silky mouth feel and a long finish.
My first red is a 2014 Chateau Saint Sulpice, a medium-bodied, classic Bordeaux blend (70% Merlot, 20 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cab Franc) that displays lots of red-fruit aromas, silky tannins and a supple finish. Pairs beautifully with stews, roasts, classic French cuisine and burgers.
Last but not least is a Sella & Mosca Cannonau, a full-bodied fruity red from the Mediterranean island of Sardinia, Italy. This estate's Cannonau grape (Grenache) yields a warm, dry wine with plumy fruit flavors, an oak overtone and scent of violet. Pairs with pasta, pizza, lasagna, beef and poultry. Delicious - a staff favorite!!!
March is already here and we are ready to celebrate with another supperb, four-wine lineup for you to toast and taste. We are delighted to have the very talented guitarist/vocalist Ian Rottner back in the house.
We'll roll out the tasting with a 2014 Dr. Hermann Riesling from Germany's Mosel region. Ripe and lush with medium acidity, plus notes of yellow cherry and pineapple, this semi-sweet riesling is approachable and very balanced. Great with Indian, Thai, Chinese and spicy dishes from just about any cuisine. Awarded 90 points by Wine Enthusiast.
Next up is 2015 "Hahn", a Pinot Gris from the hills of Monterrey County, California hand-crafted by vintners Nicky and Gaby Hanh and their family. Crisp and refreshing, this Pinot Gris shows notes of green apple and citrus with flavors of white peach and nectarine. Love it!
Out first red is a classic 2014 “Burgundy Pinot Noir” from one of France’s most iconic winemakers: Louis Latour. This light wine offers red berry fruit character and the dry, earthy style that characterizes reds from this region. A great match with salmon, roasted chicken, pasta dishes and stews such as beef bourguignon.
Last but not least is "1", an Argentinean Malbec from Bodegas Antigal that will definitely keep you smiling all weekend long. This smooth, supple red has notes of cedar and vanilla-spice plus abundant dark fruit flavors. Pairs beautifully with steak, roasts and South American cuisine.

Wine Friday has finally arrived and we are ready to meet the challenge with a very special tasting for you. In addition to a great lineup of four outstanding wines and Rob J's live music, there will be a surprise fifth pour of a newly discovered, local "item" that we'd love you to taste!
I'll start with "Outer Sounds", a deliciously crisp and refreshing New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. This white delivers notes of guava, gooseberry and passion fruit in an easy-drinking style that makes it perfect on its own or with your favorite salad, chicken or fish dishes - lovely!
Next up is a "Simmonet-Febvre Chablis", a fine example of the unique, steely mineral style of Chardonnays produced in France's Burgundy region. The wine is crisp, dry and fresh with notes of apple, lemon and a creamy texture. Great with seafood, grilled fish, chicken dishes and goat cheese.

I'll start with a Killka Torrontes, a medium-bodied Argentinian white that shows distinctive flavors of peach, roses and lemon zest. As a reference, I describe this wine as a cross between Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Grigio for its sweetness on the nose and dryness on the palate.
Next is a Joseph Drouhin Mâcon Villages, a classic Burgundy Chardonnay that displays a mix of peach, apple and grapefruit flavors with bright acidity and a dry finish. This is a very approachable white that pairs with full-flavored fish dishes, poultry, charcuterie and creamy french cheeses. A staff favorite!
My first red is a Vinies Veyes Acústic Celler from the Montsant region, east of Barcelona, Spain. The composition is 80% Carignan, 20% Garnacha from 40-75 year old vines. This tasty Spanish red has flavors of black cherry, raspberry, herbs & oak. It's rich on the palate with notes of black fruits, fennel, plum and dark chocolate. A "must sample...and buy"
Next is a Cabernet Franc based blend by Master Sommelier/Winemaker Richard Betts, one of the most respected vintners in America. Simply named "My Essential", this red is big and bold, with an abundance of fruit and a long finish that leaves your palate begging for more. California's Central Coast winemaking at its best- outstanding!!!

Valentine's and wine are one of the oldest married couples around, so this Friday we are celebrating their eternal relationship with a very special tasting lineup for you to toast, taste and enjoy. Soundscape pianist Kevin Koprowski will be filling the house with his wonderful live music.
I'll start with a "Domaine Burckel-Jung" Cremant from France’s Alsace region. Made with the Pinot Blanc grape using the Champagne method, this superb sparkling is dry, crisp and citrusy with white flower and fruit flavors and an elegant, fresh texture. Perfect to celebrate on Valentine's day!
Following up on last week's "Funk Zone" red, I'll be pouring its white sibling. This 2015 Santa Barbara County blend of 54% Sauvignon Blanc, 25% Gewürztraminer and 21% Viognier, displays fruit and floral notes with crisp acidity and a touch of lemon. Pairs with seafood, vegetarian dishes, poultry, sushi and more. You'll love it!
Next is a new Cabernet Franc from the Chinon Appellation in France's Loire Valley, 2014 "Château du Coudray-Montpensier". This medium-bodied red is rich in black fruit and vanilla flavors and has notes of black currant, spice and bright tannins, all wrapped in an earthy texture. Enjoy it with classic french cuisine, meats, vegetable casseroles or on its own. A superb classic french red!
My last pour is "Aviary", a 2014 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon deep ruby in color with rich aromas of smoke, leather, orange peel, and chocolate followed by delicious notes of dark fruits. Enjoy it with steak, roasts, stews or on its own in the winter months. This cab is pure deliciousness, I highly recommend it!

Great wines, friendly people and live music are the three key ingredients for a fun and enjoyable tasting and here at Stellar we have them all! Tomorrow I'll be pouring four outstanding wines as we welcome our new musician (and neighbor) Ian Rottner to the house.
My first pour is "The Arsonist", a luscious, rich and creamy Chardonnay from California's Duniggan Hills wine appellation. In this wine, aromas of creamy caramel and fresh pear mingle with notes of nutmeg, butterscotch and toasty oak, resulting in a truly magnificent Chard. Pairs with creamy pasta, seafood or your favorite salmon recipe.
Next up is a Chateau de Pierreux Brouilly from France's famous Beaujolais region. This smooth, medium-bodied, dry red is made with Gamay, the region's typical grape. The wine is complex and elegant with aromas of blueberry, black currant and medium acidity. Pairs with red meat and cheeses. Highly recommended!
My third is an innovative Syrah-Viognier blend named after Santa Barbara County's hip arts community "The Funk Zone". The Syrah offers depth, red fruit aromas, and concentrated flavors, while the Viognier brings notes of flowers and tart fruit. The cool label is by mastermind LA artist Kelsey Fisher (aka KFiSH). Delicious!
We'll wrap with "Boomtown", an easy, uncomplicated Washington State Cabernet Sauvignon with blackberry and cherry juice flavors, breezy tannins, ample acidity and a pinch of sweet pipe tobacco for complexity. Great with steak, burgers and roasts!

I can't think of a better way to start your winter weekend than tasting wine in a warm and inviting shop (Stellar...of course) surrounded by friendly people and great live music (Kevin Koprowski plays)!
I'll start the tasting with a "Marchesi di Barolo Zagara Moscato d'Asti", a deliciously fruity white with intense aromas of orange blossoms and peach notes. Sweetness and acidity are in perfect balance in this wine, making it a great pairing for spicy cuisine, blue cheeses and desserts.
My second pour is an "Altos Ibericos" Tempranillo from Spain's famous Rioja wine region. This silky, medium-bodied Crianza has aromas of ripe berries, white flowers, soft tannins and a long finish. Enjoy this classic red with tapas, mediterranean dishes, roasts, Spanish charcuterie and hard, aged cheeses.
Next up is a Jean-Luc Colombo Les Collines de Laure Syrah, a rich, smooth Rhone Valley red with flavors of currant, raspberry and some spice. This wine has medium tannins, bright acidity and a dry style that opens it to many food pairing possibilities. 2016 Bronze Sommelier Wine Award winner.
Last in the lineup is a full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon-Malbec blend from Mendoza, Argentina. The "Amancaya" Gran Reserva reveals dark berry aromas and notes of mocha, coffee and spices. This is a great wine to enjoy with an Argentinian steak dinner, prime rib, lamb or a hearty winter pot roast - just delicious!

Friday...the workweek ends, the weekend begins and I get to pour four great wine for you to toast, taste and enjoy! Rob J will be providing musical entertainment.
I'll start the lineup with a Louis Hauller Riesling from Alsace, France. This "Top 20 Riesling" award winner comes in a bone-dry style and offers classic floral and lemon/lime aromas, plenty of minerality and a racy, refreshing palate. Great with fish, shellfish and exotic Asian cuisine.
Next up is a Barone Ricassoli Chianti Clasico, produced by one of the oldest wineries in Italy. This medium-bodied Tuscan has aromas of ripe plum, berries, fresh herbs and well-integrated tannins. Bonds naturally with pizza, lasagna, grilled vegetables or steak. A terrific value!
My third pour is a Pipoli Aglianico del Vulture, a full-bodied Italian red with intense, deep ruby color, notes of cherry and candied fruit, and hints of vanilla. The Aglianico grapes in this wine come from 50-60 year old vines grown in volcanic soil, giving it an earthy, mineraly texture. Delicious!
Last but not least is the Jean Leon 3055, a lovely Merlot-Petit Verdot blend from Spain. This is a medium-bodied, organic red with notes of red fruit and a silky, dry texture. A food and budget friendly Spanish that pairs beautifully with rice dishes (paella), meat, tapas and even fish!
