Our Friday wine tastings are always a great option to start your weekend and tomorrow is no exception. I've put together a lineup I am sure will awaken your senses and put a smile on your face - come in and check it out!. Van Isaacson and Tim Gordon will be providing musical entertainment.
We'll start the evening pouring samples of a "JJ Vincent Cremant de Bourgogne", one of the best sparkling wines in France. Made using the traditional Champagne method, this Blanc de Blanc is dry and crisp, with flavors of pear, apricot and a citrusy finish. An elegant, glamorous bubbly that's perfect for all festive occasions!
Next we'll taste a 2014 Paso Robles "Daou", one of my favorite Chardonnays in the store. This classic California Chard is lush and smooth on the palate with flavors of pineapple and Asian pear, notes of nutmeg and subtle hints of ginger. A great pairing for shellfish, cream-based pasta, risotto and baked vegetable casseroles.
Our first red comes from Australia's famed Barossa Valley and is new to our inventory. "The Strapper" is a rich and velvety blend of Grenache, Shiraz and Mataro (GSM) with flavors of cherry, blackberry, pomegranate and spice. Extremely food friendly and a great value for a high quality wine.
We'll close with a Cosentino "The Franc" Cabernet Franc from Lodi Valley, California. Deep crimson in color with sweet and spicy notes of fresh herbs and cloves. The Franc features intense fruit flavors and hints of black pepper - delicious!
See you all tomorrow,
