Yes, it's been a crazy week and YOU NEED YOUR WINE…we understand, and we are ready! Tomorrow's tasting lineup will definitely put your mind at ease and set the tone for a fun fall weekend - come in and check it out! Rob J will be in the house playing the keyboard as we taste four awesome wines:
I'll start with a "Hugel Cuvée Les Amours" Pinot Blanc, a fruity, dry white from one of France's most distinguished wine regions: Alsace. The Hugel has a kiss of sweetness, crisp acidity, and ripe orchard fruit flavors lifted by lemon, lime and fresh herbs. Pairs with shellfish, sushi, salmon spicy cuisine, blue cheeses and charcuterie.
Next I'll pour a 2014 "Mahi" Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough Valley, New Zealand. The Mahi has more weight and texture, and less extreme pink grapefruit flavors than many others from the area. It shows a balanced range of citrus and tropical fruit, bursts of grass and a clean and crisp style that refreshes the palate for many dishes. A very unique style of Sauvignon Blanc - you'll love it!
My first red is "Château Saint-Sulpice", a classic Bordeaux red blend of 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet Franc. The wine exhibits black cherry, spice and plum notes with depth, balance, smooth fruit and a soft finish. Enjoy it with with French and Mediterranean cuisine. A staff favorite!
"Force of Nature", a magnificent California Cabernet Sauvignon from Paso Roble's Mossfire Ranch is our fourth. This Cab has a flavor profile composed of cocoa powder, plump, juicy raspberry, pomegranate, stone, and hidden forest trails. It's powerful, with a finish buried in plums, cassis liqueur and cherry juice. The "Force of Nature" is an awesome addition to our inventory and one of the best I have ever tasted from this region!
See you all tomorrow,
