This Friday I will exercise the magical powers of wine to bring you laughter, joy and fun after a week that many of us will never forget! Van and Matt will be providing musical entertainment.
I will start pouring samples of "Terrasses" a Rhône valley white blend of Viognier, Roussane and Clairette. This is a classic French dry white that displays flavors of citrus, exotic fruits (litchis) pear and apple. Rated 89/100 by Wine Spectator, this white pairs with vegetable appetizers, grilled fish, poultry and light cheeses.
Next up is our new South African Chenin Blanc: "Ken Forrester Old Vine Reserve". This wine is a great example of the balance that can be achieved between fruit and delicate oak/vanilla flavors, combined to form a full-bodied, fruity white that's perfect with spicy and full flavor meals - delicious!
My first red is "Jezebel", a fruit-forward, easy-drinkig Pinot Noir that shows the balanced acidity, bright fruit flavors and smooth finish you would expect from a quality Oregon Pinot Noir. Enjoy this lovely wine with salmon, pizza barbecue or just on its own.
My fourth wine is "UNO", a one-of-a-kind Argentinian Malbec from the iconic Mendoza Valley. This red has luscious black and red-berry fruit, natural acidity and firm tannins. Enjoy this exceptional wine with red meat entrees, grilled vegetables and firm cheeses.
See you all on Friday!
