For tomorrow's tasting I've put together an outstanding selection of wines for you to sample. And to make the event even more fun, Rob Jackimiec will be on the keyboard playing two sets from his great repertoire while I pour!
I'll start with a Pinot Gris (also called Pinot Grigio in Italy) from "Bodegas Piedra Negra" in Mendoza, Argentina. This is a subtle, yet full-bodied dry white that pairs beautifully with fish, risotto, roasted vegetables and cream-based pasta dishes. Next, I'll pour a medium-dry, "Essence" Riesling from the iconic Mosel wine region in Germany. This wine goes perfectly with Indian, Thai and Japanese food (especially sushi), and other spiced cuisines.
Our third selection is a Burgundy "Bouchard Pere et Fils" Pinot Noir - a light, velvety, dry French red that's enjoyable on its own or with poultry, pork chops, vegetable casseroles and even grilled salmon or tuna. This is an outstanding classic from a family that's been creating great wines since 1731. Our fourth wine takes us to Maule Valley in Chile, home of "Chilensis Lazuli", a dark ruby-red, full bodied blend with aromas of berries, currant and spices - this wine has everything you'd expect from a big, bold, South American red - just delicious!
I look forward to seeing you tomorrow!
