Shorts on Monday...coats on Friday, nothing is consistent at this time of the year except for our wine tasting. Rain or shine, you know we'll be here every Friday pouring great wines for you to enjoy. In addition to an outstanding lineup, tomorrow we’ll have in the house vocalist/guitarist Franco Aguilar and Van Isaacson (violin and percussion) playing two sets of their awesome music, as we taste these wines:
La Grand Courtage - France - NEW!
Crisp, light and refreshing, La Grand Courtage offers the perfect balance of freshness, fruit, acidity and sweetness. This wine has notes of berries, lilac and violet, and pairs well with many foods including spicy Asian, risotto, BBQ and soft cheeses (brie and goat). You’ll love it!
Hugel Pinot Blanc - Alsace, France - NEW!
This is one of those all-purpose, medium dry white wines that go well with seafood, white meats, creamy dishes, sushi, salads and more. I would say it is fruit-driven but restrained, with aromas of peach, pistachio and flowers. Also perfect on its own, just chill it well and sip it at your leisure.
Le Fervant - Southern Rhône Syrah - NEW VINTAGE
This excellent wine continues to be a staff and customer favorite because it has everything we look for in a Rhône red and then some. Le Fervant is a very fresh and vibrant, dark Syrah with flavors of blueberry, boysenberry, hints of toast and cocoa. It has medium acidity and a velvety, elegant style. Enjoy with beef, roasts and Mediterranean cuisine.
Katnook Founders Block Cabernet Sauvignon - Australia - NEW!
I recently tasted this Aussie Cab and was impressed with its depth and flavor, so I decided to bring it in for you to taste. It is full-bodied, supple and juicy and was recently named among the top 10 Australian "Heavenly Barbie Wines". This cab loves steaks and burgers and is a great value for a truly delicious, quality red wine!
See you all tomorrow,
