This Friday we have a lineup of warm weather-friendly wines that will put you in the mood to enjoy anything and everything our beautiful city has to offer at this time of the year. Our very own Rob J will be on the keyboard providing musical entertainment, as you taste this outstanding selection:
Garbo Rose: this elegant rose comes to us from the Montsant wine region of Catalonia, Spain (northwest of Barcelona). It has notes of cherry, strawberry and mint, and enough acidity to support its rich texture and Mediterranean style. Garbo produces some of the best wines in the region and this rose showcases their longstanding tradition of excellence in winemaking.
Daou Chardonnay: a gem from Paso Robles, and one of the finest Chards in Central Coast, California. It offers aromas of citrus, peach and nectarine, and flavors of pineapple and jasmine. Lush and smooth on the palate, this 2014 Daou is one of those "must taste" wines - whether or not you are a Chard drinker check this one out, you'll love it!
Weninger Blaufränkisch: this wine comes to us from Mittelburgenland, one of Austria's most important wine regions. The grape is called Blaufränkisch and the wine is dense, spicy and robust, and pairs beautifully with hearty food or charcuterie. This Weninger is in line with our goal of bringing interesting wines from countries relatively new to our market for you to taste.
Pepperjack Barossa: this Australian red blend is a tribute to Barossa's rich winemaking heritage. A predominantly Syrah blend, Pepperjack is dark red with aromas of fresh berries, mocha and licorice. The palate is rich and round with flavors of plums and blueberries. This wine is best enjoyed young but will age well when properly cellared. Enjoy with beef, grilled chicken and full flavor dishes from just about any cuisine.
See you all tomorrow!
