This special Pride weekend tasting is dedicated to diversity, friendship, respect and love, all values that make us stronger as a community and as individuals - you are invited to come in and celebrate with us! Our very own Rob J will be on the keyboard providing musical entertainment.
I'll start this tasting pouring one of my favorite summer wines: Lagar da Condesa. This white is crisp and zesty and it's made with the Albariño grape, one of Spain's most popular white varietals. The Lagar offers notes of pineapple and peach along with the underlying minerality found in many wines from this Atlantic Spanish region. Enjoy it with seafood, fish or in a sunny summer day out in the patio.
My second wine is a delicious Rose from Province, in the South of France: Commanderie de la Bargemone. This outstanding rose offers classic aromas of wild strawberries and red currants, with a light, floral character and a crisp, bone-dry palate.
Up next is a Sella & Mosca Cannonau Reserve (Grenache), another summer perfect red from the Island of Sardinia in Southern Italy. This medium-bodied red has aromas of ripe red berry, coffee, spices and herbs, and is "spot on" with grilled veggies, chicken, pizza and pasta. A great value wine from one of Italy's most progressive producers.
Last but not least is "Tridente", my second red for the evening. This dry, full-bodied Tempranillo comes from the famed Castilla y Leon region in central Spain and has flavors of ripe red fruit, spice and some dark chocolate. Tridente's rustic style makes it perfect with Spanish, Mexican, Cuban and Middle Eastern cuisines.
See you all tomorrow!
