This Friday we kick off the July 4th weekend with stars, stripes and great wines for you to taste. This lineup brings to the table contrast, texture, flavor and fun, making it one of our most innovative summer tastings so far:
We'll start with a Rapitala Piano Maltese, a Sicilian white with fresh Mediterranean scents and notes of apple, pear, herbs, and a touch of roasted nuts. This summer white pairs beautifully with seafood pasta, grilled fish, chicken, vegetables and fruit - a lovely, refresing wine for the warmer months of the year.
Next we'll pour one of the shinning stars in the Bodegas Salentein Killka Collection, a juicy white made with Torrontes - Argentina's signature white grape - that you will fall in love with. This medium-bodied white is floral, fragrant, with medium acitidy and texture and aromas of grapefruit that remind us of a Sauvignon Blanc. Great with Asian, Indian, Sushi and Mexican food - a great value wine!
Our first red is a medium-bodied, dry Grenache-Syrah blend from the Luberon region in France (Rhone). This wine is complex and yet delicate, with notes of nutmeg, pepper and aromas of blueberry, blackberry and currants. A nice, easy-going French red that can be enjoyed in a casual setting or paired with French or Mediterranean cuisine. Very approachable and food friendly.
Our last wine for the evening is "Amancaya", a Cabernet Sauvignon-Malbec blend from the famous Mendoza wine region of Argentina. Produced by the renowned Bodegas Caro (Catena-Rothchild), this Bordeaux style blend is the result of an alliance of two great wine cultures (French and Argentinian). This is a bold, full red with notes of vainilla, spices and mocha from the oak in which it's aged. Great with steak, burgers, roasts and robust dishes.
We look forward to seeing you on Friday!
