Our wines for this tasting lineup are a true midsummer summer dream and you are invited to check them all out!
I will be personally pouring one of my most creative and fun selections ever since the store opened - all summer wines, specially selected to beat the heat and pump up the fun!
I'll open with a Toad Hollow Dry Rose, made with Pinot Noir sourced from California's Sonoma-Carneros wine region, which gives the wine a distinctly bright and flavorful character. This Toad Hollow rose shows aromas of spice and pepper married with wild strawberry flavors and crisp acidity...a joy sip after sip!
The second wine l'll be pouring is a Chateau Coustaut Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon, Muscadelle blend from the Graves region of Bordeaux, France. The vines for this wine grow in deep gravel soil resulting in a dry, citrusy white with notes of white flowers, pear skin aromas and a mineral finish. Great summer white to enjoy by itself or with fish, seafood, grilled chicken and goat cheese. NEW!
Our first red is a Bodegas Carrau Pinot Noir from Cerro Chapeu, Uruguay. This vineyard is located 900 feet above sea level, right on the border with Brazil, where the conditions are ideal to grow this grape. The wine is light to medium, fresh, on the dry side and perfect for this time of the year. I tasted it two weeks ago and loved it, now let me know what you think! NEW!
Our fourth wine is one of the most innovative Spanish red blends out there: Jean Leon 3055. This is an organic, Merlot- Petite Verdot medium bodied blend with ripe tannins and notes of sweet plum, strawberry and blackberry. 3055 was originally produced by a man of humble origins who achieved his dream of founding Hollywood's "restaurant of the stars" in the 1950s and producing a wine with his own name. Cool story, come in and I'll tell you more!
See you all on Friday!
