Another "splashing" wine tasting lineup kicks off this late summer weekend at Stellar and you are invited to check it out. Rob J will be on the keyboard providing musical entertainment.
First in the selection for the evening is a summer classic that became an instant favorite early in the season and is a strong contender for the "Miss Stellar Rose 2016" title. I am talking about Billette de Provence" a crisp, dry French pink that has brought tons of fun and joy to many of us this summer...a truly unforgettable rose!
Next, I'll take you to Columbia Gorge Valley to taste "Klee", a Pinot Gris that packs lots of Pacific Northwest awesomeness in every bottle. This delicious white has layers of pear, toast and orange zest, and pairs beautifully with fish, poultry, lighter asian dishes and salads. Klee has been highly rated for its consistency and affordability and it is undoubtedly a great Pinot Gris for all occasions!
My first red is a Petit Sirah from Vinum Cellars, a small California winery known for producing wines of the highest quality. The grapes from this Clarksburg vineyard yield an uber concentrated, ripe wine with blueberry and boysenberry notes, all tied in by a lovely vanilla wrapping. The V is very approachable and extremely food friendly - I look forward to your tasting comments!
I'll close the lineup with a Malbec blend from Salta, one of Argentina's most important wine regions located in the foothills of the Andes mountain range. "Amalaya" is a smooth, medium- bodied, French oak-aged red that shows a bright ruby color, notes of violet, berries and hints of vanilla. Just set it next to the grill, sip on it and enjoy!
I look forward to seeing you on Friday,
