Labor day weekend is here and you are invited toast, taste and celebrate at Stellar!! I'll be pouring four award-winning wines specially selected for your end-of-summer parties and beyond. Van Isaacson and Matt Gordon will be providing musical entertainment.
I"ll kick off this special tasting with one of my favorite Spanish Cavas: "Vilarnau Barcelona". This is the quintessential party sparkling: dry, crisp, fruity and loaded with thin bubbles for maximum enjoyment. Ours is the "Trencadis Edition", presented in a cool bottle inspired by the modernistic tile art of Catalonia.
Next I'll pour "Chasing Venus", a classic New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc from that country's acclaimed Marlborough wine region. This is a big, bold white with lively flavors of citrus, guava, lemongrass and passion fruit. Perfect with spicy foods from a wide range of cuisines, blue cheeses, Mexican seafood dishes and salads.
My third wine is a Chardonnay from North Coast, California. The "Chamisal" is perfect for those who prefer the unoaked style of this wonderful white wine. Aged in stainless steel vats, the Chamisal is a clean, crisp and very food friendly chard that is perfect for garden or dinner parties all year round.
The fourth wine in the lineup is a "Klinker Brick Farrah" Syrah from Lodi Valley, California. This gem is a big bold, fruity red that pairs to perfection with burgers, steaks, chicken and anything off the grill - just delicious!
