"Wine and Balance", a Complimentary Wine Tasting

Life is a balancing act and wine is an act of balance, so this Friday I am pouring a  lineup that brings the two together in perfect harmony and you are invited to experience it all! Rob J will be on the keyboard playing a brand new repertoire as we sample these great wines

I'll start with pours of a "Porter & Plot" Grenache Blanc, a tasty, unoaked white from California's Santa Ynez wine region. Traditionally  planted in northern Spain, Grenache Blanc has grown in popularity in the US where it's appreciated for its intense flavors and plush, spice-driven finish. The wine is juicy and rich with notes of plump pear, mango, lime zest and honeysuckle - you'll love it! NEW

Next is a Sauvignon Blanc from the folks that brought us New Zealand's Chasing Venus but produced in California's Russian River Valley, where the conditions for high quality Sauvignon Blanc are ideal. With flavors of fresh fruit, grapefruit and tart apple, this domestic "Chasing Venus" pairs perfectly with poultry, grilled fish, asian food and herb-flavored cheeses. A perfect, budget-friendly "go to" Sauv! -  NEW

Our first red is "DIME", a Bordeaux blend (aka Meritage) from the Happy Canyon of Santa Barbara AVA, one of California's most innovative wine regions. This red is a medium-bodied  blend of 53% Cabernet Franc, 29% Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot.  Pairs well with many types of food including ribs, broiled lamb, burgers, goat cheese and more. The name DIME refers to a perfect 10 in urban parlance. I couldn't agree more! - NEW

I'll close with a delicious Primitivo (Italian for red Zinfandel) from Italy's iconic Puglia region. "I Muri" is a bold, deep, fruity red, with mouth-puckering tannins and a higher alcohol level. This award winning wine is very popular in the region, where it is enjoyed with rich, robust pasta dishes, pizza, vegetable casseroles and beef. I Muri offers a great value for a wine of such high quality - a winner! NEW

See you all on Friday!

Cheers!

Luis
