We are kicking off this extended July 4th weekend with a dazzling “bubbles and red” wine lineup and you are invited to taste them all. Van Isaacson and Tim Gordon will be playing live.
My first pour is a “Lusvardi” sparkling rose, a bright, crisp bubbly with flavors of berries and green apples, all delivered in a fruity, yet dry style. Perfect for summer parties, with appetizers, shellfish and vegetable dishes.
Next is my favorite Prosecco: “Villa Griffo Extra Dry”, an Italian sparkling that is all about having a good time. This bubbly is fresh and balanced with hints of acacia flowers, honey, apples and melon. Definitely a cut above most in taste and quality, not to mention the beautiful bottle!
My first red is a Pipoli Aglianico del Vulture, a silky, smooth, earthy red from central Italy’s volcanic area. This full-bodied wine has flavors of mulberry, mocha and herbs. Great with Italian, Spanish, Latin and Middle Eastern cuisine.
My last pour is “The Equalizer” a red blend from Sonoma County’s Ammunition winery . This delicious, full-bodied red has notes of blackberry, black cherry, baking spice and vanilla. A perfect match with skirt steak, carne asada and any type of grilled meat.
See you all on Friday!
